We're not your typical architecture firm - and that's kinda the point. Started back in 2012 with just three people and a shared obsession with making cities greener, we've grown into a team that actually walks the talk when it comes to sustainable design.
Look, we'll be honest - when we first started, people thought we were a bit crazy. Green roofs in Vancouver? Living walls on commercial buildings? Everyone said it wouldn't work, that clients wouldn't go for it.
But here's the thing - we'd all worked at traditional firms before, and we were tired of seeing the same cookie-cutter designs that ignored the environmental impact. So we took the leap, rented a tiny office on Burrard Street, and decided to do things differently.
Fast forward to today, and we've designed over 200 projects across BC. Some small residential homes, others massive urban developments. Each one's got its own personality, but they all share that commitment to sustainability that started this whole journey.
We mess up sometimes, learn constantly, and never stop pushing what's possible when you blend nature with modern design. That's just how we roll.
Three architects, one vision, and way too much coffee. We opened our doors with exactly zero clients but loads of ambition to change how Vancouver thinks about green building design.
Landed the Coastal Green Tower project - our first high-rise with integrated living walls. Nearly killed us with stress, but it put us on the map and proved sustainable design could work at scale.
Grew to 15 team members and won our first national sustainability award. Also moved to a bigger office (still on Burrard though - we're loyal like that).
Started our heritage division after realizing that sustainability isn't just about new builds - it's about preserving and upgrading what's already there. Game changer for us.
We're 30 people strong now, working on projects from residential custom homes to major urban developments. Still learning, still growing, still obsessed with making every building greener than the last.
Principal Architect & Co-Founder
Sarah's the one who convinced us all to quit our cushy jobs and start this wild ride. With 18 years under her belt, she's got this uncanny ability to see green solutions where others see problems. Also makes terrible jokes during client meetings - you've been warned.
Specialty: Urban Planning, High-Rise Sustainable Design
Director of Sustainability
Marcus knows more about green roofs and living walls than anyone we've ever met - and that's not an exaggeration. He's been with us since day one, turning wild ideas into actual buildable systems. Spends his weekends hiking, which explains a lot about his design philosophy.
Specialty: Green Roof Systems, Biophilic Design
Heritage & Restoration Lead
Elena joined us in 2019 and basically created our entire heritage division from scratch. She's got this amazing talent for respecting historical integrity while sneaking in modern sustainable tech. Her projects have saved some of Vancouver's most iconic buildings from the wrecking ball.
Specialty: Heritage Restoration, Adaptive Reuse
Residential Design Director
David's the guy you want if you're building a custom home. He listens - like really listens - to what clients want, then somehow makes it better than they imagined. Plus he's weirdly good at staying under budget, which clients definitely appreciate.
Specialty: Custom Residential, Net-Zero Homes
Commercial Projects Lead
Priya handles our commercial and office optimization projects, and she's absolutely brilliant at it. She gets that workspaces need to be functional AND inspiring. Her designs have boosted productivity in ways that honestly surprised even us.
Specialty: Commercial Interiors, Workspace Optimization
It's not a buzzword for us - it's literally why we exist. Every project starts with the question: how can we make this greener? Sometimes the answer's easy, sometimes it keeps us up at night, but we always find it.
We're not the type to show up with a finished design and say "deal with it." Our best work happens when we're bouncing ideas around with clients, contractors, and engineers. Design's better when everyone's voice matters.
The tech and techniques we used five years ago? Already outdated. We're constantly reading, experimenting, and yeah - sometimes failing. But that's how you get better. Stagnation isn't in our vocabulary.
Whether you've got a clear vision or just a vague idea, we'd love to chat. No pressure, no sales pitch - just a conversation about what's possible when you put sustainability at the heart of design.
